Sizing Information

Maternity is no different to other fashion. Sizing is inconsistent and you might end up in a size 12 in one item and a size 14 in another. We are here to help and if you order an item that we know is a smaller or bigger cut than normal then we’ll let you know about it.

In general though the sizing is as follows:

XSMALL = Size 8
SMALL = Size 10
MEDIUM = Size 12
LARGE = Size 14
XLARGE = Size 16
XXLARGE = Size 18

In our PLUS SIZES the sizing is as follows:

1XL = Size 20
2XL = Size 22
3XL = Size 24
4XL = Size 26

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE SIZE I RECEIVE DOESN’T FIT AND I WANT TO TRY THE NEXT SIZE?

Should you receive an item and find that you need a different size then you will find our amazing customer service a godsend. We will get you to hold onto the item you have while we send you the alternate size. We won’t charge for the 2nd garment and nor will we charge for postage. This gives you the opportunity to try the alternate size and if neither size works then you only have to make one trip to the post office to return the items. This also saves you on the cost of postage to return the items. Should you decide to keep the alternate size then you just return the size that didn’t suit. It’s that easy!

BRA SIZING

During pregnancy you will get quite wide around your ribcage and this is why maternity bras have 6 clasps instead of the usual 3. You will probably have grown out of your usual underwire bra by about month 3 or 4 and then its time to move into a soft cup or flexi wire maternity bra. Hopefully this will see you through your pregnancy but you may need a new fitting around month 6-7. Don’t worry though, there’s a good chance you’ll fit back into this first bra as your baby gets older and starts to feed less.

You need to allow about 1 clasp per month for growth so if you are fitting a bra at 3 months then you will want it on the tightest clasp so you have room to loosen it as you get wider.

The number in front of the cup size is the number that indicates how big the bra is around your ribcage. The cup is how big it is in the bust.
As a general rule if pre-pregnancy you were a 12C then you are likely to end up in a 14D-DD. Boobs are one of the most unpredictable parts of pregnancy so don’t be surprised if you end up in a 14E or F!

Generally speaking the fuller the cup, the better the support but some ladies don’t like a full cup because it makes wearing a low cut top very difficult. For this reason, there are ¾ cup bras but often these only go to an F cup.

DENIM SIZING

Denim is a fabric that will stretch after a short time of wearing it and for this reason it is important to make sure your jeans are firm when you first put them on to allow for give. You don’t ever want anything clothing item to be too tight across your belly though so make sure they are not digging in. Try sitting in them also.

SRC GARMENTS

It is important to measure yourself in your underwear with your ankles together. Measure a complete circle around your hips holding the tape measure at the top of your pubic bone and the base of your spine. If your measurement is between 2 sizes, go down a size. If you are measuring yourself for Recovery Shorts you can do so from the 36th week onwards but if you are carrying a lot of extra fluid, make sure you allow for this as it will disappear quickly after giving birth.
